About Us
We are the Bellringers in Bovey Tracey ringing with other ringers from, and in, Highweek, Lustleigh, Moretonhampstead, Wolborough, Bickington, Ilsington, Kingskerswell, East Ogwell…. and any other tower or person who is interested!
We are a sociable group, and practice nights usually end with a drink and a chat in the local pub.
We go on outings throughout the year, either a full day or half a day visiting other churches and ringing their bells, and having a nice pub lunch.
Our tower is affiliated to the Devon Association of Church Bellringers which represents call change church bell ringers in Devon, and to the Guild of Devonshire Ringers which represents the method ringing in Devon.
We are mainly a call change band and have recently started competing in Association striking competitions. We don't expect to win but the tea and cakes are lovely and we enjoy meeting other ringers. We also have several method ringers in the band and we are aiming to increase our abilities as a method band.
